Let's be precise about group size
Our boat is a 21' Grady-White centre console and it carries six guests. We are not going to tell you we can run a forty-person event, because we cannot, and you would find out on the day.
What we can do is run back-to-back departures: a morning trip and an afternoon trip on the same day, same boat, same captain. That is up to twelve people across one working day — a whole team, in two waves, with the group that isn't fishing doing something else on the waterfront.
Where six is not a limitation but the entire point: taking four clients out. A leadership team of five. A top-performer reward. An investor you actually want to talk to. On a six-person boat, nobody is at the back of a crowd. That is worth more than capacity.
Why a boat, and not the fourteenth escape room
Corporate outings in Seattle have converged on a narrow set of options, and everybody has done all of them. The value of a fishing charter is that it is genuinely different, and that it does something the alternatives do not: it gives people four to six uninterrupted hours together, off their phones, with something to talk about.
You cannot check Slack while you are landing a salmon. Something about a boat makes people talk differently than they do across a table. That is the actual product.
It also works on people who do not fish. Captain Thao spends his life teaching complete beginners to catch fish, and the flounder and lingcod trips produce steady action rather than a long quiet wait — which matters enormously when half your group has never held a rod.

The procurement questions, answered upfront
We know how corporate booking actually works, and that the trip does not get approved because the captain is charming. It gets approved because the paperwork clears.
Can we pay by invoice rather than a card?
Yes. Retail bookings take a deposit by card at checkout. Corporate bookings are invoiced. Nobody should be putting a company outing on a personal Visa and chasing an expense report.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance?
Yes. Seattle Nautic is a fully insured commercial charter operation and we can produce a COI for your vendor onboarding. Tell us if your company needs to be named as additional insured and we will arrange it.
Do you have a W-9?
Yes — available on request for vendor registration.
What if the weather is bad?
Captain Thao is USCG-certified and the call is his. If the water is not safe, we do not go, and we will work with you to reschedule. Safety is not negotiable and we will not put your team on the water in conditions we do not like.
What's included
Rods, reels, tackle, live bait and life vests are provided. We clean and fillet the catch at the dock, so your people go home with fish. A one-day Washington fishing licence can be issued onboard for anyone who has not sorted one out. We depart from Shilshole Bay Marina, Dock V, about twenty minutes from downtown.
You are welcome to bring food and drink aboard. Several groups bring a catered lunch; the guide lunch from Seattle Fish Guys is a local favourite.
Common questions
How many people can you take on a corporate charter?
Six guests per departure. We can run back-to-back morning and afternoon trips on the same day for up to 12 people total. We are honest about this rather than overpromising a capacity we don't have.
Can we pay by invoice instead of a credit card?
Yes. Corporate bookings are invoiced rather than run through the retail card checkout, so it goes through normal AP rather than someone's personal card and an expense report.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance (COI)?
Yes. Seattle Nautic is a fully insured commercial charter operation and can produce a COI for vendor onboarding, including naming your company as additional insured if required.
Is a fishing charter good for people who have never fished?
Yes, and it is one of the better options for a mixed group. Captain Thao teaches complete beginners routinely, and the flounder and lingcod trips produce steady action rather than a long wait, which keeps non-anglers engaged.
How far is the marina from downtown Seattle?
Shilshole Bay Marina is roughly twenty minutes from downtown Seattle, making it practical for a half-day outing during a working day.
